Winner of the Launch Competition

Congratulations to the winner of the $1000 store credit competition, Sarah Donnelly of Rothesay Bay.

The question was "What's the best dare to make someone do when out in town?". Her answer was "Swap underwear with someone you just met"

Thanks to everyone who entered the competition. A list of the greatest dares ever will soon be available to download on the website!

Waitangi weekend

We spent most of the weekend out in Auckland promoting the launch of Mischief Boxes, hurrah!

First stop on the day was the Okahu Bay Cultural Festival. That was interesting. They took to the hot girls on Segways like a fish to water... or something like that. Much admiration came from the tweens in the audiences, we felt like pied pipers at times with a trail of lil ones following us and cries of "omg can I have a go" and "I love your armbands". Those over twenty had different ideas it seems, with cries similar to "What's in your box lovey"... (gee did you think of that yourself??). It was when they started with "Can I get into your box..." we decided to move on...

Next stop was Mission Bay. The people taking in the sunshine and fine dining were shocked and amused by the spectacle, especially when HMM did some dancing styles on the Segways in a spare moment (music thanks to a portable speaker) Traffic may have been stopped, we take no responsiblity. A short stop into Glengarrys made sure we were not parched as (or beached), being a hot day and in capes and all.

Brittomart and Queen St were our next stop on our journey. We highly recommend Brittomart Square as a place to cane those good Segways around, but had to watch out for all the magicians and buskers, given the Buskers Festival was on that weekend. We paused to watch a street performer try and break out of some chains and a straitjacket, however his cheesy American lines (direct from Neyu Yooork!) failed to win these cheeky devils over. Nor did his little performance, when we left after ten minutes he was still flailing around. Yawn!

Thus ended our Waitangi day missions, what a day it was!

On the Sunday of Waitangi weekend the Mischievious devils attended the UpFm Solar Series at Western Springs, ace choons and great crowd to be had. There the Segways really came into their own, getting us to and from the van which was parked a mile away in little under a minute. Even tried experimenting with doubling up (giggity giggity... no on the Segways you sly dog I know what you were thinking) which worked until some drunken punters tried to pull us off and over them. We know who you are, please don't try that again or else we will use our pitchforks next time. Some lucky fellows had a go on the Mischief Box Segways, one won the battle and tamed it, the other was thrown off as his mad skills were not to its liking. Hope the bruises have healed! Besides this one fellow, I think everyone there left with a flyer in hand and a smile on their face, so between Mischief Boxes and UpFm, it was a great day.

It was with reluctance and a heavy heart we dropped the Segways off to their owner on Sunday evening and signalled the conclusion to our epic Waitangi weekend. But never fear, we will be back again - keep a look out at the next event round town and don't forget -

"when you want to get that party started - get a mischief box!"

With special thank to Philip Bendall from Segway NZ and Jarra from UpFM for making this awesome weekend possible.
